Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship at UBC, candidates must:
- Have completed a bachelor’s degree.
- Not hold a master’s degree.
- Be 35 years of age or younger at the time of application.
- Be a citizen or refugee from a Sub-Saharan African country.
- Apply for an eligible master’s program at UBC.

The scholarship is available for select master’s programs at UBC, including:
- Master of Food and Resource Economics (MFRE)
- Master of Food Science (MFS)
- Master of Land and Water Systems (MLWS)
- Master of Sustainable Forest Management (MSFM)
- Master of International Forestry (MIF)
- Master of Geomatics for Environmental Management (MGEM)
- Master of Applied Science in Forestry (Thesis-based)
- Master of Data Science (MDS)
How to Apply
To apply for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at UBC, complete this application form, submit your resume, provide two recommendation letters, and include your academic transcripts. Eligible candidates will receive an email with instructions on how to submit an online application to UBC.
