Applications for the Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowship program are now open for the 2026/2027 academic year. Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowship Benefits
The Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowship offers comprehensive funding, including:
- A salary of €47,273 in the first year and €47,880 in the second year
- Employer’s contribution to PRSI (social insurance)
- Annual eligible research expenses of €5,000
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Have been awarded a doctoral degree within the five years preceding May 31, 2026
- Be the author or co-author of at least one peer-reviewed publication or an equivalent demonstrable intellectual property output
- Have an academic mentor willing to supervise the proposed research project
- There is no age limit for applicants
