Each program offers a multidisciplinary, transnational pathway, with coursework delivered across multiple partner universities in Europe (and sometimes beyond).

How an Erasmus Mundus Master Is Structured

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) requires mandatory mobility that includes at least two study periods in two different countries. Each program is run by a consortium of at least three institutions in three distinct countries, of which at least two must be EU Member States.

Each student builds a tailored mobility track by choosing, among the consortium’s partner universities, where to complete each mobility period.

Degree Awarded

Upon successful completion of an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master, students receive:

  • a joint degree issued by the consortium universities attended, or
  • multiple degrees (a separate degree from each partner institution), or
  • in some cases, a single degree jointly awarded by all consortium institutions.

Students apply directly to the consortium of their chosen Erasmus Mundus Joint Master. There is no single central portal for all programs. Each master’s has its own online application platform with specific rules, criteria, and deadlines.
