Applications are now open for the Erasmus Mundus MAPP Joint Master’s Program for the 2026/2027 academic year.

Offered by a consortium of four European universities in Austria, the Netherlands, Spain, and the United Kingdom, the Erasmus Mundus MAPP program supports students of all nationalities to pursue a two-year Master’s degree in Public Policy. The program provides two types of scholarships: full scholarships worth €1,400 per month for two years, and partial scholarships covering 50% of tuition fees. The application deadline is December 10, 2025.

MAPP Program Description

Mundus MAPP is a joint Erasmus Mundus Master’s program specialized in public policy. It combines theory and practice through coursework, internships, and study visits, while offering students flexibility to choose their specialization track.

Erasmus MAPP Partner Universities

The Mundus MAPP consortium is made up of the following four universities:

  • Central European University (CEU), Vienna, Austria
  • Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI), Spain
  • International Institute of Social Studies (ISS), Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands
  • University of York, United Kingdom

Degree Awarded

Graduates of the Erasmus Mundus MAPP program will receive a Master of Arts in Public Policy, awarded jointly by the two consortium universities they attended, along with a diploma supplement.

In addition, students completing the CEU track will also receive a US-accredited Master of Arts in Public Policy, registered with the New York State Department of Education.

Erasmus Mundus MAPP Mobility Tracks

The Erasmus Mundus MAPP program requires mandatory mobility across multiple partner universities in Europe, depending on the chosen specialization:

  • Global Public Policy: Year 1 at CEU (Vienna, Austria), Year 2 at IBEI (Barcelona, Spain).
  • European Public Policy: Year 1 at CEU (Vienna, Austria), Year 2 at University of York (UK).
  • Political Economy & Development: Year 1 at ISS, Erasmus University Rotterdam (Netherlands), Year 2 at IBEI (Spain).
  • Governance & Development: Year 1 at ISS (Netherlands), Year 2 at University of York (UK).

Scholarship Benefits

The Mundus MAPP consortium offers:

  • Full Erasmus Mundus scholarships: €1,400 per month for 24 months (total €33,600), tuition fee waiver, and health insurance.
  • Institutional scholarships: one per track, covering 50% of tuition fees in both years.

Eligibility Criteria

Mundus MAPP accepts applications from EU and non-EU students. Minimum requirements include:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in social sciences (or equivalent). Applicants from natural sciences or engineering are not eligible.
  • Strong motivation and interest in European and international public policy.
  • Good command of English (proof required).
  • Professional experience is not mandatory, but relevant experience is an advantage.
