Applications for the VLIR-UOS ICP Connect Scholarships are now open for the 2026–2027 academic year. This prestigious program, launched by the Belgian foundation VLIR-UOS, supports outstanding students from Africa, Asia, and Latin America (29 eligible countries) who wish to pursue a full-time bachelor’s or master’s degree at a Flemish university in Belgium. The application deadline is 28 February 2026 for entry in September 2026.
VLIR-UOS (Flemish Interuniversity Council for University Development Cooperation) funds study scholarships and academic partnerships between Flemish higher education institutions and universities in partner countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

Benefits of the VLIR-UOS ICP Connect Scholarship
The VLIR-UOS ICP Connect scholarship provides full financial support covering all study-related expenses in Belgium. Recipients benefit from:
- A monthly allowance of €1,400 for living expenses (accommodation, food, local transport, etc.)
- Full tuition fee coverage
- A round-trip flight ticket between the home country and Belgium
- Health and liability insurance covering the entire study period
The scholarship is granted for the full duration of the chosen program—12, 24, or 36 months, depending on the level of study (bachelor’s, initial master’s, or advanced master’s).
Eligibility Criteria for ICP Connect 2026
Applicants for the ICP Connect 2026 scholarships must meet all eligibility and admission requirements to avoid disqualification:
- Be a citizen and resident of one of the 29 eligible countries
- Be 35 years old or younger for a bachelor’s or initial master’s, and 45 years or younger for an advanced master’s
- Not have previously received a scholarship funded by the Belgian government
- Preference is given to candidates working in higher education, the public sector, or civil society organizations

- Sub-Saharan Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Guinea, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe
- Middle East and North Africa: Morocco, Palestine
- Latin America and the Caribbean: Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador, Haiti, Nicaragua, Peru
- East Asia and the Pacific: Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam

How to Apply for the VLIR-UOS ICP Connect Scholarship 2026
Applications must be submitted directly on the website of the university offering the program (see list above). When applying for admission, clearly indicate that you are also applying for the VLIR-UOS scholarship.
Note: You may apply for only one ICP Connect program per year.
Timeline and Notification of Results
Each program sets its own internal deadline. After the application period closes, universities forward their selection results to VLIR-UOS. Selected and waitlisted candidates will be notified by email no later than mid-June.
