What You’ll Get with UNIL Master’s grants
You’ll receive a monthly stipend of 1,600 CHF and will be exempt from paying registration fees. The scholarship covers the entire length of your Master’s program (typically 1.5 to 2 years), with some exceptions.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this scholarship, you need to meet the following requirements:
- You must hold a foreign university degree equivalent to a Swiss bachelor’s degree.
- You should have an excellent academic record.
- You cannot already be enrolled at the University of Lausanne.
- You must show strong motivation for the program you’ve chosen to study.
- You must have at least a C1 level in French or English, depending on the program’s language of instruction.
There is no age limit to apply for the scholarship.
Available Study Programs

However, a few programs are not covered by the scholarship, including Master’s degrees in Medicine, Education, and Law.

Your scholarship application also serves as your application for the Master’s program, so there’s no need to submit a separate application for your chosen program.
Documents You’ll Need for Your Application
Your application file must include the following documents:
- A completed application form.
- A copy of your university degree, with certified translations if needed.
- Official academic transcripts.
- A detailed curriculum vitae (CV).
- A motivation letter explaining your academic and professional goals.
- Academic references.
- Proof of language proficiency (based on the language of your chosen program).
Important Dates
The application deadline for the UNIL Master’s grants is November 1, 2024.
Between December and January, UNIL will notify applicants whose applications are incomplete that they’ve been rejected. Between February and March, those whose complete applications have not been shortlisted will be informed. In early April, successful candidates will be notified.
