KAIST Scholarship Benefits and Amount
The KAIST scholarship program offers a tuition fee waiver, health insurance, and a monthly allowance. The duration of the scholarship varies depending on the chosen program:
- 24 months for Master’s candidates,
- 60 months for Integrated Master’s-PhD candidates,
- 48 months for PhD candidates.
Eligibility Criteria
All international applicants (non-Korean nationality) who submit a complete application to a Master’s or PhD program are eligible for the scholarship. Selection is based on previous academic achievements, future potential, and the ability to contribute to the university community.
Eligible Study Programs
All KAIST programs are covered by the scholarship, except for the Global Technology Innovation Program (GDI-GTIP Track).

KAIST Scholarship Application Procedure
To apply for the KAIST scholarships, follow these steps:
- Create an account and choose a program of study.
- Provide your personal and academic background, previous experiences, and achievements, and upload all required documents.
- Write your statement of purpose and respond to other questions.
- Select your financial resources. You can apply for the scholarship at this stage by checking the corresponding box.
Timeline
Key dates for the application process are as follows:
- Online application period: From August 22, 2024, at 10:00 AM to September 12, 2024, at 5:00 PM (Korea time).
- Submission of recommendation letters: Until September 23, 2024, at 6:00 PM (Korea time).
- Application review period: From October 28, 2024, to November 15, 2024.
- Final decisions announced: December 6, 2024, at 5:00 PM (Korea time).
