Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants must:
- Have applied for and meet the requirements for a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne,
- OR, be currently enrolled in a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne.
Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit. Candidates are evaluated and ranked according to their academic achievements in their most recent degree and their research potential in their chosen field of study.

Any student who submits a complete application for a Master’s or PhD program at the University of Melbourne is automatically considered for the scholarships. No separate application is required.

Deadlines
UNIMELB offers two deadlines to apply for a Master’s or PhD program:
- October 31, 2024: to start your studies at the beginning of the 2025 academic year (March 3, 2025).
- March 31, 2025: to begin your studies in the middle of the 2025 academic year (July 22, 2025).
